You get what you pay for (Zone romantica)
I have rented a cheap apartment here for over 7 years. It is noisy due to the clubs around, dirty and full of bugs but i only pay $350 a month.
I am content at living like this as because i drink, hardly at my place. I sleep on the floor, same as you, no hot water which is bad during winter and no fridge.
If you want all the comforts of where you come from, you will have to spend over $500 a month at least.
The Mexican people seem to be ok with no hot water and bugs. Many people i know just have a cooler no fridge.
I try and understand who so many people want to come and live here in Mexico, especially PV and want a great place to rent for a couple hundred bucks a month.
You get what you pay for. Incase you havenot noticed, Mexico is not as cheap as people think. Vodka and rum is cheap though thats why iam here.
